The entire biodiversity business sector is a nascent industry that has huge potential to positively impact our planet. However, the fact that is so nascent means that it is changing rapidly and is increasingly challenging for first-time entrepreneurs to both build a business and keep up with all of the new developments. That's where we (and you!) come in. Help us to help the startups behind this new wave of nature positive solutions.
Current Vacancies
All of these roles are part-time, voluntary and unpaid. Volunteers may choose to do more than one role, or even share a role with another volunteer depending on how time intensive a role might be. The key is enthusiasm, and an interest in the environment and biodiversity.
Social Media
Help us to build and maintain our social media presence. It's not critical to have huge experience in this area, an interest in social media, the environment and biodiversity is enough. Perfect part-time opportunity for someone that enjoys social media and would like to develop their experience or credentials in this area while supporting biodiversity initiatives.
PR
Support our work by helping us to engage news and media organizations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the environment and biodiversity, some previous experience in PR and will also help us to craft newsworthy stories to gain attention and engagement. No minimum hours, whatever you can spare!
CSR Liaison
Help us to build a network of Corporate Social Responsibility programs and officers worldwide. CSR programs are a critical channel through which biodiversity startups can obtain commercial feedback about the feasibility of their solutions in the marketplace. This is the cornerstone to customer discovery and achieving product-market fit. The ideal candidate will come from a business background, have good communication skills and the ability to reach out to and engage CSR managers.
Grants Researcher
The ideal candidate will have good skills in secondary research. They will update our website directly with new content that biodiversity entrepreneurs can use to identify new grant opportunities.
Funding Researcher
The ideal candidate will have good skills in secondary research. They will update our website directly with new content that biodiversity entrepreneurs can use to identify new funding opportunities. The funding researcher will also identify and publish information about other biodiversity startups around the world that have recently secured funding.
Forum Moderator
The online forum is a cornerstone of our Biodiversity Startups initiative. As moderator you will manage the quality of content published to the forum, ensuring that it is appropriate and blocking any users that repeatedly breach our forum rules. You keep the forum healthy and helpful for biodiversity entrepreneurs. Good administrative skills required.
Startup Mentor
All qualifying candidates must have previous direct experience starting at least one successful business (survived at least 7 years or successful exit). It is not necessary for your previous startup experience to be in any way related to biodiversity, but you do need to have experience in creating business plans.
Partners Liaison
From universities to government institutions to corporate accelerators...we need partnerships! We want to work together with other like-minded organizations around the world to help biodiversity startups. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in outreach and communication and may have a background in sales. They will also have good experience and skills in building long-term relationships.
Sponsor Liaison
We are a non-profit, social enterprise so any sponsorship funds that we can secure will go directly to supporting biodiversity entrepreneurs and their startups. Help us to develop relationships with organizations that might be interested in sponsoring our initiatives. The ideal candidate will come from a sales background and have an interest in the environment and biodiversity.
Video Editor
Video interviews with biodiversity business professionals and investors are an important way for us to educate new entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will have either experience or an interest in developing their video editing skills, helping us to produce professional video content that builds our brand.
